To: Master Dale Garrison
Well Dale, you sure have come a long way since those Cal Poly Kung Fu San Soo days with Keith and Darrell and me. Now you are a MASTER!!
In case you have forgotten me, I was that scrawny guy that worked with you in the Biology Lab oh, so many years ago. Wow, how time flies.
So I was on line checking out Kung Fu San Soo, I guess once it gets in your blood you never can get it out, and I was both reminicing about those days in the gym and thinking about getting back into it again, when I saw your name on the Dapga kung fu dojo in Whittier. And imagine my surprise that you were a Master Instructor. Okay, not really much of a surprise since I knew you really loved it and that you kept studying it after our little group broke up, but it was still a bit of a shock to actually see your name.
The first thing I wanted to ask you in this e-mail was if you knew of any traditional Jimmy Woo style San Soo studios in the Omaha, NE or Council Bluffs, IA area. This seems like a stretch, but since you do have your finger on the San Soo pulse, perhaps you could point me in the right direction ... I really do want to get back into it.
Secondly, how are you doing? Director of Engineering!! That is great too. Are you still doing the Scuba diving? Obviously you are still into the San Soo. And how is your brother doing? Last I heard he was at City of Hope in cancer research. Do you keep in touch with Andre and Thomas at Cal Poly? How about Keith? I saw them about a year ago, actually. It wasn't a long chat but it was fun to just talk to them again.
Well, I'd better let you get back to work, but it sure was cool running into you, or your picture, again.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Mark Thompson
